These striking note cards feature solid white backgrounds that emphasize the colors and features of the individual game fish. The level of detail and anatomical accuracy – note the individual scales on most species – are balanced by watercolor inks that lend each subject a stylized, almost translucent quality. All images are reproductions of original watercolor paintings and pencil drawings. Each individual card is hand signed by the artist, and their quality makes them suitable for framing. Shipped safely in a cardboard box with a clear plastic top. The 15 cards and accompanying envelopes measure 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Nick Mayer is the son of an artist and a biologist – an advantageous background for a naturalist painter. From investigating the effects of the Exxon-Valdez oil spill on sockeye salmon to helping restore spawning habitats for the last wild strain of steelhead in the Columbia River to studying the nesting habits of sea turtles in Costa Rica, Nick maintains detailed sketchbooks to use as references for his watercolors. He lives in the Vermont Green Mountains with his family.
